Bio Dúrcal was born as an ecological initiative in favor of natural cultivations in which fertilizers are not used. It meant a pioneering proyect in Spain , and nowadays is a response to transgenical food. Bio Dúrcal was the beginning of all the complex Alojamiento Molino del Puente .

Making use of the richness and biological diversity of the Valle de Lecrín and the Alpujarra (a famous region of Granada ), we have created the Ecological Tahona ('bakery') Bio Dúrcal . Here, we choose natural products which come from our own ecological cultivations in order to transform them in different types of food. It is not an industrial production but a handcrafted work, which take care of the quality of the products, that are made following traditional recipes. Thus, among other examples, we made:

In order to elaborate all this products, La Tahona uses the fresh water of a spring which have its source at this very place. We also use natural ingredients which come from our ecological cultivations and farms, like wheat flour, fresh eggs, milk, butter, non refined olive oil, honey, brwn sugar, almonds, raisins, plums, etc.

The homemade baking of La Tahona are also natural and made with the best ingredients, in a wood oven and the expert hands of tose who love the well handcrafted work.

Bio Dúrcal has a shop where the visitors and clients of the lodge can purchase all this products: Eggs form our own hens, loquats, wallnuts, lettuce, bakery, etc. You can also purchase typical craftwork of the zone and other parts of Spain (Canarias, Ibiza .)
